ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Sasha Oehler, and I am a fourth-year majoring in biological sciences on a pre-med track.
I have been raised in Cincinnati, but I was originally adopted from an orphanage in Loudi, China when I was a little over a year old. As I grew up, I quickly came to realize just how fortunate I am to have ended up in a warm and nurturing environment, with parents who endlessly support and motivate my academic and career goals. Their desire to help me, as well as my two other adopted sisters, and provide resources that I may not have been able to receive initiated my interest in serving my community.
The University Honors Program and UC itself offer a plethora of interests that I can further explore such as research and service opportunities, medical field experiences, environmental activism, and traveling. In order to challenge myself to develop personally, academically, and professionally, I must continue to pursue new and existing experiences
that will further my progress and passion towards my career goals. Additionally, I will be able to meaningfully impact my time as an undergraduate student while also strengthening my skills and knowledge.
My passion is dermatology, being able to provide specialized care and preventions for a prominent disease like skin cancer which portrays my values of human health and service. I also feel passionate about the environment and reducing human impact so that future generations will have an equal chance for prosperity. My hope is to use my hard-working and determined personality to one day achieve these goals, and leave a long-lasting mark on my community.
